Breast Silicone Removal Program

Doctor Tony Beauty Expert

Currently, patients who have undergone breast augmentation surgery but wish to correct their breasts or remove silicone can undergo corrective surgery. The reasons for silicone removal can vary, such as unsatisfactory results, excessive hardness, silicone leakage, or displacement.

Common problems associated with breast augmentation surgery and silicone removal include:

  • Capsular Contracture: This occurs when the scar tissue around the implant tightens, causing the breast to feel hard and possibly painful. Immediate medical consultation is recommended if there is significant pain.
  • Implant Rupture or Leakage: Although rare, this can be detected by uneven breast sizes, feeling a hard lump, or experiencing pain or swelling.

MRI Breast (Magnetic Resonance Imaging Breast) is typically used to detect implant rupture or leakage accurately.

Causes of Silicone Implant Damage:

  • Prolonged use of silicone implants.
  • Non-standard silicone implants.
  • Surgical techniques, such as using excessively large implants.

Symptoms of Displaced Silicone Implants:

As time passes, implants may shift or cause “sagging” of the breasts due to natural aging, resulting in an unnatural appearance. This can be corrected by reshaping the breasts and repositioning the implants.

Post-Operative Care:

  • Wear a supportive sports bra or one without underwire.
  • Avoid getting the incision area wet.
  • Avoid lifting heavy objects or engaging in strenuous exercise.
  • Avoid massaging or squeezing the breasts frequently.
